But when an artist that is truly gifted and music is their passion, no amount of industry hoop-jumping or dues paying can hold them back. Meet Jennifer Dixon.
This sultry, dark haired singer has a unique soulful singing style that is totally original, but reminiscent of so many iconic vocalist of the past. Her lyrical delivery is heartfelt, passionate and emotionally honest. She is a songwriter with immense depth and truth in her songs.
Jennifer was born in Flowood, MS, raised in Memphis, TN where she developed her style of writing and singing and became a fixture in the city for local club work.
After completing college on a vocal scholarship, Jennifer moved to Nashville to gain more experience as a vocalist and songwriter. She was soon performing in clubs , doing studio demo work, and crafting her own unique style by absorbing the creative community of songwriters in Nashville. She was soon noticed by music row, and was signed to a development deal with Bluewater Music. Her studio experience led her to work on projects with CMH records "Pickin On" series with the Infamous Stringdusters as well as many other talented songwriters.
Her latest EP "Secrets" was produced by Tommy Cangemi of Wild Child's Music, and her husband, keys player Jason Friedman.
A collection of songs written with Nashville talent, "Secrets" has influences of pop and adult alternative with Jennifer's signature style of soul.
Jennifer is currently writing towards sync opportunities, and performing in Colorado with her band Night Heron Drive.
